I got off the plane in ATL. I had done some research (thank you smart phones) and found that Delta still had a flight from ATL to Quito today. (Atlanta is a delta hub). Since I was surely going to miss my connection out of Houston, United kindly agreed to get me on the Delta flight. They made it happen quickly and kindly, at no cost to me. I am boarding now, heading to a window (!) seat, and I'll be getting dinner on board. I hope there is a good movie. All that remains to be seen: did my bags make it to this new flight? I'm cheerily pessimistic.
